Safety

At SMS Energy Group, safety is the core principle guiding all of our work performed. Simply put, “we want each of our employees to return home each night”. Accident prevention is the key. Our leadership team recognizes that safe working conditions for every employee can be attained through proper job instruction, training, frequent review of safe practices, the use of approved safety equipment, adequate supervision, and employee positive attitudes. We have developed a comprehensive injury and illness prevention program that meets appropriate federal, state, and local occupational health and safety standards.

Safety demands a commitment from all personnel within our organization. As a contractor, we have an obligation to ensure that all our employees, as well as subcontractors within our area of responsibility, are afforded the protection of an appropriate health & safety program.

SMS Energy Group’s health and safety program contains policies and procedures to deal with common workplace hazards, specific job-related hazards, and potential hazards that may arise. Both our employees as well as our subcontractors must be actively involved in the hazard analysis process, and we provide our employees with the necessary training to do so.

The key to our safety success is: safety

A Zero Accidents Philosophy
Maintaining A Comprehensive Health and Safety Program
Human Performance Factors & Methodology
Continuous Training and Education
Regular Monitoring and Reporting of Safety Results.

Ultimately, the success of our safety effort depends on all employees from senior management to the newest hire demonstrating a commitment to safety by working in a safe manner. Safe job performance is a part of our everyday culture, and how our safety effort is ultimately measured. It’s incorporated into our work practices, policies, and procedures.
